Invisible clef shows key signature on unpitched percussion

Hi there! I used an unpitched percussion instrument to create a new instrument definition for a narrator. Everything works just fine, until I change the default clef to invisible clef. When doing that, key signatures now appear on this instrument.

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening?

That’s strange. Maybe add a local atonal key signature to only that staff with Shift-K atonal alt/opt-enter

Yeah, that was my solution for printing… needed to finish yesterday. Also, to my criteria, it really didn’t need the key signature at all… but it’s not my music, so I respect as a copyist those decisions.

But I want to solve this now without time pressure… And I was wondering if this is how it should behave, is it something I did wrong, or is it a bug.

Seems like a bug. Happens here too. Just tried with a xylophone and a suspended cymbal.

Wow! Thanks for doing that! That helps me stop looking for ghosts… definitely, it’s not something I did. I’ll wait then for an official word on it. Thanks again, @jesele

It’s not a bug. The invisible clef is an invisible G clef, meaning it’s pitched, so key signatures do apply.

What you should be requesting is an invisible unpitched clef as well. And the local atonal key signature is the correct workaround

If you aren’t using the percussion clef that looks like a rectangle in your project, you could go to Library > Music Symbols, search for Unpitched percussion clef 2 and delete its glyph. Then select the place where you want an invisible unpitched clef and choose Percussion Clef (Rectangular) in the Clefs panel under Common Clefs.
