iPad feature request: Note input with pen, clicking on the staff

This has been requested in different places, including the facebook user group, and on this forum, where the devs said it’s on the roadmap:

iPad Expression Map and Pen input

In order to make mouse-like input work with the Apple Pencil in Dorico for iPad we need to re-implement quite a bit of the event-handling code for interacting with the music area. It’s not a small job and carries some risks of also affecting Dorico on macOS and Windows. So although it’s definitely something we plan to do, I can’t say for sure when we will get to it.

Just creating this topic to emphasize support, and so that other people who’d like this can upvote in one place

Note that this is not about handwriting recognition, as in StaffPad, but rather simply clicking the note on a staff, with a preview of the pitch on hover – just as it works with the mouse on desktop, or with the pen in the Sibelius for iPad app.
(Currently you can only input pitches via the on-screen keyboard, or by connecting an external keyboard to the iPad).

And I would like to add the implementation of the gyro sensor of the new Apple Pencil. You could make it assignable or fixed to change note value. Or the possibility to open a context menu by pressing it… it could become such an killer app.
