Is there any way to mark up a page in Read mode, for example a 4 part writing assignment, and be able to save the annotated page to print or send to a student? Is there anyway to zoom the read view?

No, at the moment the annotations are visible only in Read view. We are thinking about how to make those annotations more useful in future, including being able to see them in the desktop version, and being able to export graphics or print pages that include them.
