there are many issues, it would be nice to know, if there is a upcoming update - bc we need to work still in N13 - thnaks a lot
I don’t have any inside information, but the typical cadence is about 2-3 months in between updates, sometimes a little longer, sometimes less if there’s a hotfix.
So doing the math based on previous release patterns, I’m guessing as early as the next few weeks, or perhaps some time in June for the 14.0.30 update. At least that’s when I’ll be paying attention to updates!
Amen to that and it’s about time. And from reading this and the Nuendo forum there seems to be plenty that needed sorting out - not least the infamous disappearing midi remote device settings blockbuster bug. So I hope June really is a date for the diary.
I haven’t got N14, as yet, I am still on the very solid N13 so what are the major problems with V14?
Having updated from N13 to N14 I wouldn’t say there is anything out of the ordinary, at least in my way.
I work mainly in post, from editing to mixing and a little bit of music here and there.
For me it has been very stable and with major improvements in various areas, including ARA stability, which was unexpected.
I’d say N14 is a MUCH better release than 13, and is the best Nuendo/Cubase I have ever used, since Cubase 8.
fine that there are lucky ones!! - i am also in post but also in production of audiodrama - about 300-400 tracks. Issues right now:
- no function of the modulators on all 6 of our systems.
- laggy and on some systems unusable: the new clip volume curve and also the section detection
- big troubles with Melodyne: sometimes the preview sound is completely broken und often you hear the track twice, even when you made ARA permanent
- not too big: no movement of the cursor when bouncing/exporting
- another ARA problem is, when you have ARA active on a clip sometimes there are audio interuptions when playing back and touching the fade for ex.
Thats it for now - whishlist for 15 is coming soon
have a nice day!
Hi all, the next Nuendo update is in the making and will be released within the next 4 weeks.
Thanks,
Timo
One can always hope that this will be fixed in the next update. It’s purely cosmetic, but still annoying, and looks cheapish, Reaperish on Windows 11.. (white, rectangular boxes around standard buttons.). Has been there since the introduction of N13, and still not gone. Very stable and good otherwise!
Hi there,
Thanks for the welcome reassurance Timo - will the new update include fixes for the #14 sequencer branch as well - i.e. 14.0.30 simultaneous release for Cubase and Nuendo? Many thanks.
Steinberg are always rolling in screen elements to use similar code.
@TimoWildenhain please fix:
-
the event horizontal lock key modifier that was erroneously swapped from shift to cntl, which moved copy event modifier from cntl to alt-drag bug introduced after v13.
N14 - Missing settings in preferences - #4 by DSabath -
the unwanted creation of automation points when scaling using select mode bug after v12
Automation Tilt/Scale/Compress should not create automation events - #13 by kenobi1
