Is page number editable in SE if project is made in Pro?

sx050 oktav skalak DDN.dorico (1.6 MB)

I’m creating many similar worksheets, far not as complex as a score of a grand symphony orchestra, but they are many small details what need Pro version, what I am using.

My question is , can a project like this be opened in SE not loosing any detail, and is it possible to change only the page number and probably a few words in the text frames?

SE users have no access to Engrave mode.

They can still edit text in text frames, but as local page overrides. SE users cannot do frame editing, which might be necessary to resize frames to accommodate more text, depending on the changes you’re envisioning.

There is two thing I’d like.

  1. Changing the page number
  2. On some specific pages there is a ‘Lesson#’, what varies for the induvidual pupils in their book. Lesson# is in a text frame, so they should click on the text, deleting the default Lesson #, and replacing to the actual one.
Are these possible? If so, I may recruit many Dorico fans as I’ll ask them to download the free version and make these small changes before they print. It is much greater fun to work in Dorico itself than converting to PDF and making these changes there.

You can run Dorico as Dorico SE yourself, and try out how everything functions in Dorico SE.

Quit Dorico, then hold down Ctrl whilst re-opening Dorico.

Thank you, this is the best way, indeed…

I’ve been done what you said, pressing Ctr key meanwhile opening Dorico but I could do everything SE wouldn’t. What did I wrong? Sorry for being a pain…

If you’re on a Mac, you have to hold down Cmd

I’m on Windows… after I pressed Dorico to open I’ve pressed ctr and held it until Dorico was opening…

Hold down Ctrl first, and while holding it down doubleclick on the dorico icon to open it
