When I save project from menu and immediately close the project windows, Cubase asks to save project ?
Is it a small bug or the Save Menu command has no effect ?
I think it it safe to say that the Save command does save your project. Rather, it would seem as if Cubase doesn’t properly check to see if a change was made since the last time the project was saved.
I have noticed this as well if I open a project and immediately close it again, Cubase will ask me if I want to save the project before closing even though no changes were made.

I find this happening on occasion, but not always.
My speculative guess is, that some plugins are continuously reporting some changes to their state to Cubase - even without any user action in the project.
And when a plugin changes, Cubase needs to save the current plugin state before quitting,
Interesting, I will test a project without any plugin.
I checked it appears to be a VST3, I will contact the editor and ask for a fix.
