Hi, I’ve been using Cubase for many years. Lately, I’ve been wondering if the developers have moved onto something else? Midi remote still doesn’t work on mixing consoles with moving faders (2 years after they indicated it would be 'fixed in the coming months’), and it’s been months since even a minor update. Is a new Cubase version imminent or is there some other reason for the slowdown?
Just curious and not wanting to start a war.
I’d say that if you’re a long-term user of Cubase, you’ll know that this is nothing new.
Updates and fixes are slow to appear and sometimes many new versions are released without things being fixed as promised. It’s standard. Even critical problems can take months to be resolved. Bugs are understandable and entirely forgivable if they’re addressed quickly, but that rarely happens with Steinberg.
While the thread title is obviously trolling, the motorized fader problem with the MIDI Remote not being solved seems indeed a bit weird.
On the other hand the MIDI Remote has been getting a lot of quiet, and incredibly useful improvements, that don’t seem to be mentioned much in Steinberg’s marketing or in the release notes.
Since it’s impossible to guess if Steinberg has any plans to ever fix the motorized fader issue, I’ve created my own workaround.
