Because I’ve tried 5 times tonight using the wonderful Download Assistant, which either reports an error at around the 3gb point, or simply folds it’s arms and stops working.

Not sure why that shows the German page - I copied it from the English page, and if you look at the link, the “L=1” at the end is for english, so I have no idea what’s going on there.

I got the DA to download the thing at the seventh attempt. Then it deleted the installers. I cannot believe there is a team of 10 on this DA thing. Or maybe I can.

Do you have a VPN running? I find that often chokes my big downloads until I try a less busy server or turn it off.
I do, but I’ve downloaded sample libraries of up to 50 gigabytes (from EastWest etc) with no problems, only the DA.

I did turn the VPN off, but no joy. It actually managed to do the download with the VPN on.

Yes but the VPN issue can be site specific. A lot of sites are throttling, adding recapcha for, or blocking known VPN servers since they are sometimes used nefariously. Plus they want to track you and they prevent it.
