IS there a less confuzzling way to transfer from 7 to 7.5?

Been away for a year or two - playing piano.

Just upgraded from 7 to 7.5

Finding that I have to repeat set up Devices, VST connections, templates, recent versions…

Wondering about Media Bay and all my presets, VST instrument tweaks, favorites of all my instruments, all that customisation, where are my Expression maps?

Does it all have to be done again?

Are there easier ways?

Its all to much of a fiddle from my old brain

Any help/ideas?

Z

Hi Zero Zero

I think if you copy the preferences from the Cubase 7 to the 7.5 folder most of your setup will be copied. The preferences are at c:/Users/Username/Appdata/Roaming/Steinberg . At this point there will be a folder for C7 and one for C7.5, copy whatever you need from the 7 folder to the 7.5 folder and that should do it!!!

Best Regards

Hello Guys - thanks for some very useful replies… I tried the copy preferences folder: C7 >7.5. Some of the setting are back, I don’t know if its all back?

I am still wondering about something…

See I was starting on a big project and had 7 all set up. Lots of tweaks. I did a lot of things, templates, expression maps for orchestras, Media Bay Stuff, setting up VST’s, templates. Frankly I have no idea what I did anymore, its too much to remember and I got better things to do with my brain cell.

Is there anything else?

Does the forum know?
