Is there a way to create a custom Playing Technique that will appear as an articulation?

I would like to make what are essentially custom articulation markings.
Is there a way to make a Playing Technique that will use a glyph to appear appear above/below the note in a fashion similar to articulations?
This would be very useful.

Yes, you can. Select Glyph instead of text when you create it.

Thanks. I’m aware of that aspect of it, but let me be more specific about what I mean. If you create a Playing technique using a glyph, its default position is set to either above or below the notehead. It does not respond to context to be above or below the way an articulation marking does and its spacing is always above or below the staff instead of closer to the notehead:

The “x” here is a custom technique.

I want it to sit where the staccato mark is.

Ah, I see. I don’t think it’s possible without manual adjustment in Engrave mode. Perhaps you could use the music symbol editor if there is some articulation you don’t need.

You could create a notehead set also with built in articulation.

You can flip a glyph playing technique to underneath with F even in Write mode.

Yes, but you might have to adjust it anyway if it’s going to be inside the staff like this.
