For bars 1 and 2, I selected the notes below by holding down control + mouse,
but in bars 3, I accidentally selected the unwanted notes.

Yes, there actually is: Edit menu > Filters > Notes in chords > Lowest note
(I’m using Dorico in German so the exact titles may be a bit different, but I’m sure you will it.)
Hi @Steinbergnoob, also keep in mind that in Dorico the Undo command includes the selections. So if you made a mistake selecting something unwanted, you can press Command(Control)+Z and your last selection will be undone and the second to last selection will remain.
