Is There A Way To Save Selection "Shapes" in SL11?

So, I apologize for newbie questions and if this has been covered before…I’m looking to improve workflow and I find a great deal of value in manual editing rather than leaning too much on the modules “preset” functions…which are great and I do use them, for sure.

So, in use, I find I need a similar selection shape when editing layers. For example an unmixed “rock” song where, for example, the hi hat does not get fully unmixed from the vocals, so:
-“freq select” the range where the HH+Vox are in the Voc UnMix layer>
-paste to new layer>
-edit out vocals

What I find is a fairly “complex” polyogonal selection area is most effective in my particular scenario.

Well, recreating that polygon is not easy and time consuming. Is there any way to save that polygon for future use? Name a history layer and then create a library?

Many thanks for any input on this

thanks for that I have R(ed)T#M…but ya know…not all us is smart enuff to understand the writed words or retain any of them :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

guess I should downvote my own post

ok, so then, overwriting a selection is a bit more work far as I can tell…gotta copy the saved name to somewhere

**edit…okay, it’s just about knowing the program
so…need to open the selections dialog

OK, @Robin_Lobel
I did mean for the selection library to be available to any slp job. Are saved selections only available in each job?

For example, the DAW I use has an Automation Library which is available to any edl

Indeed selections are saved within your project, not within a global SL library. That being said you can access saved selection from different projects as long as they are opened in SL.
