Is there a way to turn down velocity when I input notes with Noteperformer?

Hello all, I thought I’d asked this question a few days ago, but I can’t seem to find it so I must have forgotten to post it (my apologies if this is a duplicate).

When I input notes with Noteperformer and my midi keyboard, I hold down the pitch (I use pitch before duration), and hear the note at whatever velocity I’m playing it with. Then my other hand hits the rhythm number, which causes the note play LOUDLY and short as it enters the staff. I’d like to turn down this velocity/volume. Is there a way to do it?

Thank you,
Stephen

Thank you for your reply – I had already tried these, it seems to make no difference, even if I set the volume level down to 10. I can play the note as quietly as I want, but the moment I apply the rhythm “number” (to indicate duration), the note “barks” at me.

It would be great to change this. In the middle of a quiet string section, it’s a bit distracting to keep hearing the inputted notes hammering loudly.
