The next Dorico update is not imminent. There are a couple more big releases and an important sales promotion queued up ahead of the next Dorico update, but it will be with you (just) before the end of the year.

The update coming before the end of the year is free for existing D5 users. There hasn’t been any mention or hint of a D6 release, so I doubt you need to be concerned with that for a while anyway.
