That’s less “prone to mistakes” than using a duplicate and having to disable one version or the other (when both are seen by the DAW).

Not exactly true. Whenever cubase starts, it copies the factory scripts to the public directory. The only way to avoid this except from disabling the factory scripts is to delete them from their initial location described here :

Exactly. Well, we can always remove them from the factory folder: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 13\midiremote_factory_scripts\Public Not sure if this could bring up any implications, but I don’t think so.
