Is this how my User > Steinberg folder should look? The one at my computer level folder has a lot more stuff in it.

Look inside the Library folder inside your user folder, i.e. ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5. The ~ is a Unix-ism that expands to ā€œthe home folder of the current userā€, which on my computer, for example, is /Users/daniel/.

Isn’t that my User folder already? I don’t appear to have a library folder in my user folder.

I do have another Steinberg folder that has a lot more items in it, but it’s what I guess would be called the ā€œrootā€ hard drive folder, as in…

Hard drive > Library > Application Support > Steinberg

What I’m trying to do is get Dorico back to it’s factory state through and through. I threw away the Dorico 5 folder (and saved it as you advised in another thread), but NEW projects in Dorico do not open to factory settings.

Try this:

  1. Click ā€˜Go’ in the Finder menu bar, and hold down the ā€˜Option’ (Alt) key.
  2. The Library entry now appears in the Finder > Go menu.
    Go_Menu_Finder_User_Library_Underlined_Kybd_copy.png
  3. Clicking Library directly opens the hidden User Library folder in a new Finder window.
(If the Library entry does not appear when you hold down the Option / Alt key, please use the alternative method at the end of the article.)

Thank you. I didn’t realize it was hidden. And I don’t know why, either.

It’s always hidden by default.

You do seem to have an ā€œApplication Supportā€ folder at the top level of your user home, which is not standard. (Same for ā€œApplicationsā€, though occasionally some apps do get put there.)
