Is this how my User > Steinberg folder should look? The one at my computer level folder has a lot more stuff in it.
Look inside the Library folder inside your user folder, i.e. ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5
. The ~
is a Unix-ism that expands to āthe home folder of the current userā, which on my computer, for example, is /Users/daniel/
.
Isnāt that my User folder already? I donāt appear to have a library folder in my user folder.
I do have another Steinberg folder that has a lot more items in it, but itās what I guess would be called the ārootā hard drive folder, as inā¦
Hard drive > Library > Application Support > Steinberg
What Iām trying to do is get Dorico back to itās factory state through and through. I threw away the Dorico 5 folder (and saved it as you advised in another thread), but NEW projects in Dorico do not open to factory settings.
Try this:
- Click āGoā in the Finder menu bar, and hold down the āOptionā (Alt) key.
- The Library entry now appears in the Finder > Go menu.
- Clicking Library directly opens the hidden User Library folder in a new Finder window.
(If the Library entry does not appear when you hold down the Option / Alt key, please use the alternative method at the end of the article.)
Thank you. I didnāt realize it was hidden. And I donāt know why, either.
Itās always hidden by default.
You do seem to have an āApplication Supportā folder at the top level of your user home, which is not standard. (Same for āApplicationsā, though occasionally some apps do get put there.)
