Since updating to Cubase 15 (Pro) from Cubase 14 (Pro) - my iCON P1-X/P1-M control surfaces are not working correctly.
Symptoms :
Load project
Control surfaces are recognised and populated with track data (displays correct etc)
Try to make any changes within the project (move sliders, use transport buttons) and changes are ignored - C15 ignores remote input.
To correct - I have attempted complete removal of control surface from Cubase, rebooted PC and control surfaces and started installation of surfaces from scratch - including the Midi Remote .js file for these surfaces written by bjlouc.
After that process behaviour is as reported above - project data updates ok but Cubase unresponsive to input.
Sorry to be so unhelpful but this is why I am never using 3rd party midi remotes for control surfaces until either Steinberg, or the control surface maker is actively maintaining them.
I understand your sentiment - but in practice it has worked really well for me through the life of 14 (when I first got the units). The midi-remote concept is a good one - basically being able to code your own surface driver - it is streets ahead of life before it came along (I have been a user since the days of the Atari 1040 ST). Seems like there was some changes to the MidiRemote capability in 15 - so teething issues can be expected. (And I chose to take the 15 update on the day it came out).
No - same issue from a blank start - apparently it is an underlying issue common to legacy midi remote devices that Steinberg are actively working on a fix for according to threads for other devices. There is a solution in testing now.
Have updated to the latest Cubase Pro 15.0.6 release and performance has been much improved - however for some reason the midi in for the first slider is not recognised (initially) - all other channels become active and work as expected. I have a p1-x and p1-m working as a 16 channel control surface. Worked fine in Cubase 14.
so in my project of say 25 tracks - all tracks work except track 1 - correct channel info etc is displayed but no slider or knob input recognised.
Solved by clearing out P1 devices and reinstalling on system - all good - workkng well again (same performance as in Cubase 14)
