I’ve run into a bit of an issue trying to migrate an old project to C14 and was wondering if anybody else had experienced this before and knew how to fix it.
This a very old project from SX3 that 10 years ago I decided I wanted to finish up in 8.5. I don’t remember exactly why but apparently I saved over the SX3 project file from within 8.5.
Overall, everything pretty much works. What didn’t come across is the VST automation.
I unfortunately saved this file from 8.5 and now SX3 hangs when I open it (just the gui, it doesnt crash). I can open a previous version of the file in SX3 (missing some automation stuff) and it works fine, so strangely all of these ancient plugins are still working on Win11.
If I open the previous version of the project in 8.5, it tells me none of my midi channels are connected and it lists out all my vsts as not connected. I can reconnect them all to their midi tracks and the project plays fine (without automation). In the picture the audio channels from the VST are there, but the vst automation lanes are kind of blanked out.
Looking at the rest of the project all of the vsts are greyed out in the “VST Instruments” folder in the project window, but all of their audio channels are active and playback just fine. There is just no VST automation for anything.
Is there any way to get those vst automation lanes connected back to the VST that is loaded?
