In Cubase Pro 13, when I use Audio Warp, pressing the spacebar only plays the selected track (Audition mode), instead of the entire project. I need the spacebar to play the full project during warping, not just the warped track. I can’t find any option in Preferences to disable this behavior.
Could you assist with disabling the Audition mode during warping?
I am using Audio Warp in the lower zone Sample Editor, and “Solo Editor” mode is off. However, when I press the spacebar in warp mode, only the edited track plays. If I click anywhere else in the project outside of the Sample Editor, the entire project plays as expected.
I cannot reproduce this. Maybe you can post a screenshot so that we can see if there are any settings on screen that might be the cause.
I also have to say that I am not working on Cubase 13. So there is a chance that this issue is version specific.
It could, however, also be installtion specific, ie. this happens only on your computer. You can check out if temporarily disabling the user preferences has an influence. Launch Cubase and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift), then chose “disable program preferences”.
When I press spacebar in the lower zone Sample Editor, only the selected track plays. If I then click on the timeline (3), pressing spacebar plays the entire project.
I need the entire project to play when I’m working in the Sample Editor (lower zone).
In previous versions of Cubase, this issue did not occur, so I was able to warp directly in the Sample Editor without issues. Now, I have to switch to the timeline for warping, which is inconvenient.
Hi,
I cannot reproduce this behaviour in C13, too. If I press the spacebar in the lower zone the playhead is set in motion not only in the lower zone but also in the project window and all tracks can be heard according to their solo/mute status.
If I press the Play button in the lower zone I´m in audition mode and the rest of the project isn´t affected hence the playhead in the project window doesn´t move.
Have you tried Johnny´s suggestion (disabling user preferences)?
Maybe you need to disable the entire preference folder.
This article describes where to find it on Mac or PC.
Kindly close Cubase, rename the folder (Cubase 13_64), just one underscore at the beginning will do. Then run Cubase again.
You will lose some settings but you can check whether the described issue is solved.
You can always revert to your old settings by closing Cubase, deleting the new Cubase 13_64 folder and rename your old one back to its original name.
Okay. Now it is up to you whether you want to invest some time and narrow down, which of the many files in that folder is the culprit and thus save as many of your settings as possible or just move on.
My best bet would be on the file Defaults.xml
The way I torubleshot such an occurence:
I made 3 folders: my old folder, the new Cubase factory settings folder and a working folder. The working folder is the one that is named Cubase 13_64 and is a copy of my original folder.
Now I would replace the file Defaults.xml from the working folder with the one from the factory preset folder.
Start Cubase, check if the problem is gone.
