Issue with No Output in Cubase 14

Hi, I need help fixing a problem in Cubase 14. I am using a FOcusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface and I’m able to record with it (right now just using a guitar) but I cannot hear anything when I play it back. When I look at the output monitor the meter is very very low, so it seems like it’s not detecting enough sound but I’m not sure. Anyone encounter this before?

First of all, you should check the input channel on which you are recording the guitar in Cubase. Is the signal there at a sufficient level? After recording, you can monitor the level meter directly on the track; is its level high enough? Is the waveform clearly visible in the audio track or is it very flat?

Thank you! This is what I’m seeing. I do believe the input channel is recording a sufficient level as I can hear it through the interface. And the waveform is showing up in the audio track. But when I play it back, the output monitor isn’t showing any activity.

Check the Routing of the Audio Track in its Inspector; is the output routing set to “Mono Out”?

You still have input monitoring enabled.

Also you should probably set up a stereo out, not mono.

I checked that and still nothing working unfortunately

Nope…Your screencap shows you still have monitor enabled. You won’t hear playback.

Also, you left the track routed to the mono out. Just delete the mono out.

I turned monitor off and that worked - feel so stupid lol. But THANK YOU! That was getting to be so frustrating.
