Issues Concerning 8.5 and Mac Pro?

Hi guys,
I tried searching the forums but haven’t found anything - I’m considering upgrading to a Mac Pro (2013) and El Capitan. I know there’s been some issues in the past but was wondering if anyone has run into showstopping problems lately using the latest OS update and the latest release from Steinberg. I’m currently running OS 10.11.4 with Cubase 8.5.15 at home on an older iMac (2011) - but with no problems. I’m trying to avoid as many headaches as possible with a new production computer.

Ah, thanks. I didn’t think there would be a big problem, but with different hardware architecture you never know.
I noticed that 8.5 does tend to hover a bit higher in CPU resources on my iMac. I also wonder if using a 4K monitor will give enough real estate to be practical for a single monitor setup.

I have had zero issues, aside from Cubase not being CPU efficient (but this is the case with Windows, too) – just don’t waste your money on the biggest processor because Cubase won’t be able to take advantage of it properly.

My Mac Pro has been unbelievably trouble-free with Cubase since I bought it four or five months ago. I’m on El Capitan and it’s great. I’m happy my years of Windows use are over…it’s like night and day for me. No need for you to worry!
