Hi all, I am just making a post for help regarding the constant and frustrating issues I have regarding playback on my Behringer UMC404HD external audio interface. I am running the latest version of Dorico and NotePerformer 4 (which I exclusively use for playback) and am using a laptop. When I first started using the interface I had no issues, but ever since a couple of weeks ago playback has been randomly stopping during work sessions with no way to recover it or not starting at all. I have changed the audio output device in Device Setup several times, changed the ASIO driver, changed the sample rate (the audio interface is 192kHz but 44.1kHz has never been an issue), made sure I was getting sound through Windows, disabled and reenabled the playback, and restarted Dorico, all (usually) to some help, but nevertheless always an issue. Drivers and software are updated, and gains are all set. I have noticed that whenever it is having one of its fits, the playback works just fine if I switch it to my laptop’s internal speakers but doesn’t even have any output in Dorico’s mixer when I switch it to my audio interface, which makes me believe the problem is within Dorico or NotePerformer (or both). Any help with this frustrating and constant issue would be greatly appreciated!
Hi @Tyler_Rosado , welcome to the forum.
From your writing I could not completely follow. If you play out via the computer’s speakers there is never an issue, right? Trouble is only ever with your Behringer, correct?
Is there a dedicated ASIO driver from Behringer available or do you use it via the Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver?
To get a better overview, please load a project into Dorico and then choose from Dorico’s menu Edit > Device Setup and switch there to the Behringer ASIO driver. Try again the playback, does sound come out? Then choose Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
