I’m not comfortable explaining myself easily in English or German. I’m French, and I have rudimentary knowledge of both languages. Steve abruptly closed the thread I was concerned about because it was written in French. I won’t say THANK YOU to him. It’s a shame there isn’t a forum in French. Anyway, thanks to an automatic translator, I’ll try to share my problem with you on the English forum. I regret that you closed our discussion so abruptly. Indeed, Thor.HOG had already sent me an initial suggestion to resolve my problem.
I successfully use the Cubase DAW on my Windows 11 PC with my Yamaha MX 88 piano. As a guitarist as well as a pianist, I recently acquired the Jamstik MIDI guitar. By following Jamstick’s instructions for connecting the guitar to Cubase, I was able to create a MIDI guitar recording track using their Jamstik Creator software. Unfortunately, the recording remains inaudible. I have tried several Cubase Studio configurations to no avail. These configurations work well with the Yamaha piano by simply adjusting the MIDI input to the piano rather than the Jamstik input or the Halion Sonic 1 instrument. Why? Where is the problem or error? What is the solution?
Hi,
Did you record MIDI data or an Audio signal to Cubase from your guitar?
If you recorded MIDI data, you have to set any sound generator (instrument), like HALion Sonic SE (or similar). In this case, it’s easier to use Instrument Track instead of a MIDI Track.
If you recorded an audio signal, can you see the waveform? Is the Monitor button disabled?
Thank you, I finally got a satisfactory result. The solution by the Halion Sonic sound generator gives me a mediocre sound whatever the guitar instrument chosen. I managed to record a MIDI track with Jamstik guitar input as input routing, and Yamaha MX S as output routing. I would now like to be able to order the Yamaha piano from Cubase.
" Is the Monitor button disabled?"
Where is that Monitor button? And how do I turn it on or off?
It’s in the track header
