I’m working on an assignment arranging for five horns and a rhythm section, which must include a guitar. I need to export it as an MP3 for my professor. I assigned a “jazz guitar” MIDI sound, but it sounds more like a nylon guitar with a very short decay too.
How can I find and assign a different, real jazz guitar sound? I have the latest version of Dorico 5 Pro and all the libraries installed.
That “e” will be in the left column in Play Mode. In Track Inspector, make sure HALion is chosen in “Routing”. Click the “e” to Edit HALion. In the HALion search bar in the right column, search for jazz guitar.
Sorry, the video is really confusing because the interface it really different. I’ll see if I can find any recent videos on this subject.
And clicking on E and searching for Jazz Guitar finds only two guitars - one that I already have installed (FM) and the Velo Jazz Guitar. I somehow managed to install the Velo. HALion Sonic keeps freezing badly… Can’t even force quit it…
Where are the other mentioned Orange Tree Archtop Jazz Guitar and Straight Ahead Samples’ JB-145 ?
Thank you.
I don’t know why the Velo Jazz Guitar is freezing. Maybe someone else can help. The other mentioned ones are 3rd party VST’s that you have to purchase.
Hi @egoruk, here my try to compare visually the old and the new User Interface. In the new UI you have the same controls (positioned in a more compact way only to the left, and with two switch tabs: Track inspector, and VST and MIDI), an also some more controls (like the possibility to load the Expression/percussion Maps directly from the track inspector, etc… I hope that the arrow clarify the inherent similarities of the two UIs so you can find yourself at home, looking at older video tutorials:
