Jazz Style Rehearsal Marks

I’m wanting to change the rehearsal mark border to match the picture below. Is it possible? If so, how do I do it? Thanks so much!

Thanks! But how do I add them to my Jazz/Big Band template I’m currently creating?

Set the font in Library->Paragraph styles->Rehearsal marks.
Then Library->Engraving Options->Rehearsal marks set the custom prefix and suffix. I think you can copy/paste those characters from my file.
Or use the Library Manager.

I would copy and paste from your file if Dorico wouldn’t crash every time I have two or more files open at the same time.

Try the Library Manager. With your file open chose Dorico project
and select my file. Then you can import just those engraving settings.

Where did you go to get to where you were in your second screenshot?

Library->Library Manager
Scroll down to Rehearsal Marks

Or send me your file and I’ll add it.

I didn’t know that existed! I got your glyphs in my file. There are now two issues. The first issue is there’s the default border around the jazz style border. The second issue is for numbers over 99, the jazz border doesn’t fully enclose. Is there a way to fix that?

I think there are longer enclosures but then you will have too long for shorter numbers I guess. Or add them in the properties panel manually.
Let’s see if I can find them. Are you on a Mac?

Jesper

Windows (which is probably why Dorico keeps crashing when I have two or more files open at the same time lol). Also, what do you mean by “aff?”

Sorry add. Just tried and they don’t look good. Maybe keep under 99?
On Mac I use Ultra Character Map to copy/paste glyphs like that.
I’m sure there is something similar on windows.

Can’t really keep it under 100. The piece I’m recreating a score for has RMs at 101+. So, kinda need them. If I open up Finale (I only use Finale to use as a reference to create my templates for Dorico), copy the glyph text, and paste it into the custom infix section in engraver settings in Dorico, would that work?

Oh, and select No enclosure in Library->Engraving Options->Rehearsal Marks

Don’t know.

Is the infix the empty space between the left and right part of the enclosure like in the picture I posted of the bar with the 100 RM?

Yes I guess so. That might work.

Here’s the file with the infix.

Jesper

RM.dorico (525.0 KB)

But then this got ugly.

Is there a way, from the properties panel to remove an infix for a RM? If so, I’ll just select all the numbers less than 100 and remove the infix for all the RMs.

Doesn’t look like it. It’s mostly 1 that look bad. No, a few more.
