JogWheel not responding correctly?

I feel like this is user error here. My MCU Pro jog wheel scrolls forward fine, but when reversing it won’t go back further than the previous downbeat. (so it scrolls back fine until it hits the downbeat)

Anyone seen this?

Hi,

What Cubase version exactly do you use, please? How is Mackie Control integrated intou your Cubase (as Mackie Control Remote Device or MIDI Remote)?

Thanks for asking.

Latest version of Cubase. 14.0.30. And I’m using MCU Pro under Legacy Devices:

Hi,

Did you experience this in Cubase 14.0.20 too, or is it new in Cubase 14.0.30 for you, please?

Ya, I did the update just a bit before noticing it.

Responded in another thread before i saw this one: I also experience this, after updating to 14.0.30. My iCon QCon G2 is connected as Mackie Control.

Ok it’s not me.

Just replied to the other thread as well - confirmed on SSL UF1 on MacOS 15.5 C14P.0.30 and Nuendo 14.0.30 - setting Timecode, or anything other than Bars+Beats fixes is on my end.

Hi,

same here on CC121, Jog wheel forward is fine, backwards is always stuck at the prev. downbeat. This was definitely ok in all previous Cubase versions. Never seen this before, it started just yesterday after updating to 14.0.30.

Me too, 14.0.30 and SSL UF1

Hi,

I will test it tomorrow morning on my SSL UF1. If I will be able to reproduce it (it seems, it’s a general issue), I will report it to Steinberg immediately.

Confirmed and reported to Steinberg.

Same here - am also on the latest Nuendo and same behavior. Setting to Timecode (upper right button in UF1 Nuendo layer) let’s you go backwards again

Exactly the same issue

This should not be labelled as a solution. I was able to scroll backwards on my UF1 and CC121 prior to the update without being permanently stuck on timecode on the UF1.

Ya workaround at best. I’ve started using the fwd-rwd buttons on my MCU transport. Not the same but I can live with it for now.

He’s aware of that. My guess is he’s marked it as “Solution” along with noting he’s submitted it to SB in order to cut down on #MeToo posts.

Only to second this: I ran into the same issue (jog wheel rewind not working) with an icon controller in MCU mode. Reverting to 14.0.20 fixed it so I will stay there until Steinberg is providing an update. And no, this is not what I would call “solved”.

Hi,

Everyone, who is using Mackie Control protocol, has the same issue in Cubase 14.0.30.

Okay, I’m chiming in here at this point, as my dedicated thread - especially related to the Steinberg Houston Controller/Console - has been closed. I have the same problems with its Jog Wheel as indicated by other users already above.
