Key Commands/Engrave/Reset Note Spacing mislabeled?

I’m still trying to find my way around Dorico Pro 6 so please help me with explicit instructions if you’re so inclined (Windows Pro 11).

I was setting up a Key Command for adding a Note Spacing Change. I first looked under Preferences/Key Commands/Engrave/Reset Note Spacing/Current Layout. I set the key command, however when I tried to use it it didn’t appear as though anything happened. Looking in the undo history it registers as “Reset Staff Spacing”. Did I do something wrong or is this simply mislabeled on Windows?

I did then program the key command under Preferences/Key Commands/Edit/Note Spacing Change and it works fine. Using the search, I assumed the correct option was under “Engrave” since this command resides under the “Engrave menu” and I was hoping I could have it reset the note spacing with one key command instead of simply opening the Dbx.

This command will reset any manual changes you have made to the current note spacing – that is, any adjustments you have made using the Note Spacing tool in Engrave mode. It does not make any changes to the current note spacing values.

You’re right that this action appears as Reset Staff Spacing in the undo history, and that’s probably a bug.

Thanks for the clarification. Key word (no pun intended) seems to be “Change”.

As you discovered, the correct command is under “Edit”, rather than “Engrave”.

Which is confusing, because in Engrave mode the command is under Engrave.

In fact, most of the commands from the Engrave menu in Engrave mode are listed under Edit in the Key Commands section of Preferences. I never understood why.
