It has been about a month since I last used Dorico. I opened up a score and found that I needed to log in and activate my app. Totally fine and worked flawlessly, except…
No more key commands. All replaced with default. I assume they still exist somewhere in a config file on my computer. Is there a way to recover?
Thanks!
It’s highly unlikely that the Activation Manager had anything to do with this.
Key commands are stored in a file called keycommands_en.json, where “en” is your keyboard language. The file is located in c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 6 on Windows and /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6 on Mac.
Is it possible that you changed languages since the last time you use Dorico?

Absolutely not. My application support folder is empty. I did not change languages. I have been focused on other things and only just went back to this computer (Macbook Air M2 2022, Tahoe 26.2, personal device) to check a score and was prompted to activate as described above.
I am aware that there is a lingering issue with key commands suddenly disappearing that goes back as far as 2018. Not sure why it deleted mine.
Any chance of a Time Machine backup?
