When I go to the Score editor (using a key shortcut to open “open layout”), as usual, the gaps are fine between the different staves. Sometimes when I go to the Key editor (using a key shortcut) and do some editing (continuous controllers or change the length of notes) and come back to the Score window (by using control+w) there are gaps between the staves (see image). I then have to close the Score window and reopen it again.

That sounds like a redraw issue. Do you have the latest Cubase 9.5.41 update installed, please?
