KEY EDITOR - key on the keyboard "M" is not muted-Cubase7.5

When I open “KEY EDITOR”/“SAMPLE EDITOR” and edit sounds MIDI/WAV etc … key on the keyboard “M” (responsible for mute) does not work - the track can still hear (?)
In earlier versions of Cubase everything worked - key “M” was responsible for silencing the corresponding track recording and it functioned!

What is the cause?
For all the tips I will be grateful!

Hi,

The focus is currently in the Key Editor, and M Key Command works when the Project window or the MixConsole is in focus.

Thank you for your answer!
Unfortunately, it does not work … when the window is open: KEY EDITOR / SAMPLE EDITOR command key “M” does not work

Hi,

Sorry, maybe I wasn’t clear. Yes, it cannot work. If the KeyEditor/Sample Editor is open, and the focus is in the editor, then it doesn’t work. To make it work, you have to make Project Window or MixConsole window active (in focus). So click to the Project window/MixConsole first. Then press M Key Command.

Also make sure, the M Key Commands is assign to the Mute function, please.

Thank you !
Project and MixConsole - here key “M” command works!
the idea is to: KEY EDITOR / SAMPLE EDITOR command key “M” was active

How to assign key “M” command to the Mute function?

Hi,

I’m sorry, you cannot do this. The Mute function is triggered when the Project window or MixConsole window is in focus only.

Thank you for your answer!
From which version of Cubase stopped working command “M”
Previously, I had Cubase 5SX - where everything worked …

Hi,

I’m sorry, I don’t know.

Btw: The latest version with the “SX” mark was Cubase 3 SX.
