Despite hunting around, I’ve failed to locate a way of assigning a keyboard shortcut to simply hiding or showing individual playing techniques as done in write–>properties. There is a tip in the manual You can assign a key command for Hide/Show Item on the Key Commands page in Preferences, which applies to chord symbols, playing techniques, and time signatures but a) I can’t find any such entry and b) I don’t know if it’s relevant anyway. Can anyone help?
That is indeed the appropriate command to bind a shortcut to. In the Key Commands page of Preferences, Type “hide” into the filter box at the top of the tree of commands and you’ll turn it up (in the Edit category if I remember correctly).
