Keyswitches in Expression Map Not Working After Relative Channel Change

Hello, I have an expression map that has an add-on Muted technique which adds a relative channel change (8 channels), and on the off-event it has a relative channel change to reset back to the main channel. However, even though the Playing Techniques lane of the Key Editor shows that my Base switches in my expression map are correctly being chosen (e.g. Marcato), the keyswitches for the chosen techniques are not being applied after the relative channel change.

When I play back my project with the Muted technique, the music plays on the correct channel, but without the correct keyswitches. After I add a Natural technique to deactivate the Muted technique, the channel correctly changes back to the main instrument and the keyswitches work again.

If it makes a difference, I’m using the Synchron Trumpet loaded in VE Pro on port 1 channel 2. The muted instrument in another channel (port 1 channel 10) simply has the Synchron Trumpet with the Sordina plugin added as an insert. I’m still using Dorico 5.

I added my expression map in case it helps.

I think I’ve found the issue, but I’m not sure how to fix it. I confirmed that the keyswitches for the chosen base techniques are being applied to the original unmuted instrument (channel 2), not the muted instrument (channel 10), even after the relative channel change. Basically, all of my base techniques seem to act as if the relative channel change never happened, even though the music is played back through channel 10 when I have the music marked as muted. Do relative channel changes with an add-on technique not cause the channel change to apply to the base techniques?

I just wanted to check if anyone confirm that add-on techniques in expression maps with relative channel changes don’t work properly. It seems like they can’t change which channel the keyswitches in base techniques are sent to.

They don’t work properly, at least not with channel changes. I have had the same problem as you. What is needed is a way to prioritize keyswitches.
