Komplete Kontrol A49 - Transport Buttons Not Working in Cubase 13 (WIN)

Hey everyone,

I recently got a Komplete Kontrol A49 and I’m having trouble getting the transport buttons (Play, Rec, Stop, Loop, Metro, etc.) to work in Cubase 13. The buttons don’t light up or respond at all.

What’s Working

:white_check_mark: The knobs can be assigned to Quick Controls and work as expected.
:white_check_mark: Octave buttons function correctly.

What’s Not Working

:cross_mark: Transport buttons (no light, no response).
:cross_mark: The large knob with the click function doesn’t seem to be assignable.

What I’ve Tried:

In Studio Setup, I’ve checked both Track Quick Controls and VST Quick Controls . They seem to do the same thing, and I can successfully map CC controls to knobs.

I’ve tried selecting both Komplete Kontrol A DAW and"Komplete Kontrol A49 MIDI, but I’m not sure why both options exist, as they seem to behave the same way.
Still, the transport buttons remain unresponsive.

Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution? I’d really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Have you installed the Komplete Kontrol software?

Page 17 in the A49 manual?

The main thing you should need to do is just make sure you select the “Komplete Kontrol DAW” for MIDI input and output for you KK A49. I have an S series MkII but I think it should be the same.
Is your A49 a Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3?

Here’s what my Studio Setup looks like and my transport controls on my S88 work as expected.

If you’re trying to use it as a General Controller and not with the Komplete Kontrol plugin, then I think you may have to manually set the A49 to MIDI mode on the hardware if it’s not already in MIDI mode. I think you still need to use the “DAW” version of the KK driver for Track QC’s and VST QC’s.

Well that did it. Thanks!

thank you for taking the time to offer a solution. Fortunately for me the solution was too simple. Had to install komplete kontrol. I know stupid of me.
Well thanks anyway. have a good day.
