Hello everyone,
I am currently using a Komplete Kontrol A49 (A-Series) keyboard with Cubase 12/13, and I am facing the persistent issue where the Transport buttons (Play, Stop, Rec, etc.) are completely unresponsive.
We have definitively diagnosed that the official NI .js script solution is broken/incompatible, and all attempts to modify community .js scripts have failed.
1.
Confirmed Technical Diagnosis (Why it doesn’t work)
-
Root Cause: The A49 Transport buttons DO NOT send standard MIDI CC messages.
-
Proof: They send Native Instruments’ proprietary HID/SysEx signals that cannot be monitored via standard MIDI utility tools like MIDI-OX.
-
Conclusion: This proprietary signal must be converted using middleware like Bome MIDI Translator Pro into a standard MCU (Mackie Control Unit) signal that Cubase can recognize.
2.
Urgent Request: Please Share Your Bome Configuration
If anyone has successfully connected the Komplete Kontrol A49’s Transport buttons to Cubase by using Bome MIDI Translator Pro or a similar middleware, I desperately request your assistance:
-
Bome Project File (
*.bmtp): Sharing your configured project file would be the most direct solution. -
Key Mapping Rules: If the file cannot be shared, please provide the exact mapping rules (screenshots or text) used to translate the A49’s proprietary input into standard MIDI/MCU commands.
[Required Transport Functions to Map]

Play

Stop
-
Record
-
Cycle (Loop)
Sharing this configuration would greatly help not only myself but many other A49/Cubase users struggling with this same issue globally.
Thank you very much for your time and help. I look forward to any possible solution.
