Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2 Custom Script

This is actually a “no”. My script is setup to change the cursor position when we turn the 4-d encoder left/right, not the track. The tracks are browsed using the 4-d up/down. I’m not sure what’s happening here, be it an NI’s firmware update, the dll still there or whatever else. In the evening (it’s morning here) I may find the time to connect an MK2 here and check what happened.

when I installed it I couldn’t do it step by step following your instructions as some things didn’t allow me to follow along. IE in this screen shot under Midi Ports you had Loopin and Loopout options. I didn’t

These are for the full version of the script, your setup is perfectly fine.

Hiya,
Thanks for help on this so far.

Turning the knob doesn’t do anything (sorry). Although I can see it registers a signal being received in the bottom right of cubase.

If I push it up and down it changes track. Pushing it side ways left and right doesn’t do anything either. I thought I was pushing if right but on closer inspection I was pushing to up slightly.

I had it working on my old computer as I used it to access those filters.
I’m based in the UK so probably on a similar timezone to you.

Thanks for reminding me to have a look! Just installed the latest Komplete Kontrol just in case it did some firmware update, nope, it’s all the same. I’m on version 0.5.9 firmware, you can check yours by pressing the “SETUP” button of the Komplete Kontrol MK2. Here everything works as expected. I’m puzzled for the 4-d encoder not doing anything at all, though signals come in. Did you alter the script in any way?

Hiya, Thanks again for this.
v0.5.9 here too.
I changed the name of the dll.
And did this…
If we do want to use the full implementation’s functionalities, there is another step involved,
apart from setting generalSettings.strippedDown =0 in the mapOfGeneralSettings.js file.
Followed your instructions but couldn’t do certain things.
Like I mentioned above not being able to set loopin or loopout. there was no drop down

Just noticed this

I unmuted that.
Is it easy to uninstall and try again?

OK, let’s do this from (almost) scratch. No need to uninstall (delete) the script.

  • Close Cubase
  • Open your documents folder, and navigate to \Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote\User Settings
  • Find the file named Native Instruments_KompleteKontrolMK2Custom_9EE69565854970217C5C1AC93F638B7B_globalmappings.json (maybe the hex seen be a little different).
  • Delete this file
  • Open Cubase
  • Since now your loopMIDI ports are not muted, you can again try adding the remote surface again, if of course the midi ports are not automatically recognized now.

ok I’m following the instructions…

I deleted the file, then on opening cubase this was there. Should it be gone?

Can you please post a screenshot of which ports are assigned to the script now? Like the one you’ve posted earlier (Studio→MIDI Remote Manager→Select the script).

So sorry, I went to send this yesterday and got a message saying I had sent too many messages to one person and had to wait 12 hours.

I didn’t re-install anything after deleting the file you told me to.

Hi, this is showing that the stripped-down version is currently activated.
But even if it is, there is no reason for the 4-d encoder turns to not work. I think it would be better if I inspect your setup using anyDesk. If you’re comfortable with this, please pm me.

Thanks. I tried to PM you yesterday and I couldn’t figure out how to.

I don’t see a message button

I’ll message you.

Hello there, I was looking for a script to customize the S-49 (MKII) encoders and buttons and found this page. I primarily want to control effect plugins and VSTi with a visualization of the parameters on the S-49 screen. I set up my Arturia MiniLab II for this by using the insert viewer parameters in the midi remote manager and different pages of the remote control editor but I guess its easier to find the right parameters on the controller with a screen  (which the Arturia doesn’t have).

I am on Mac (M1) and unfortunately wasn’t able to find the .dll file that needs to get changed for the script in this thread. Under /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/there is no Components folder where I should be able to find it as I understood. My Cubase Version is 14.

Does anyone know where I can find the .dll file or if there is another way to get this working? Thank you!

Hi and welcome to this forum!
I never connected my S49 with the Mac here, so I don’t really know the exact path. Note however that there’s no dll in the Mac case, the files should have a .bundle suffix. Most probably @skijumptoes could help here
