Kontakt 8 blank white window Cubase 13

Kontakt 8 will function as expected when launched standalone, as well as when used with Dorico 4, but shows up with a blank white window on Cubase 13. The top bar is interactable, and the dropdown menu opens what appears to be a media bay with filters, but is entirely empty. Other VSTs are functioning in Cubase without issue.

I have checked the VST plugin manager, and both Dorico and Cubase use the same directories for VSTs. This leads me to believe that it is not an issue with the Kontakt player itself, or with the file paths or locations. I am not sure where to go about troubleshooting from here, any ideas are appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forum,

  • Update your GPU drivers to the latest vendor release (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel).
  • If you’re on Windows, try changing the GPU preference for Cubase: Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings — add Cubase and try switching between “High performance” and “Power saving” GPU. Restart Cubase after the change.
  • If your system has “hardware‑accelerated GPU scheduling” enabled (Windows 10/11), try toggling it off and rebooting. (This has caused CEF/accelerated plugin UI problems for some plugins.)
  • If you use an external GPU or integrated+discrete GPU system, try forcing Cubase to the other GPU. Kontakt/Cubase preferences (non‑destructive)

The second option worked. Switched from high performance mode to power saving and the window for Kontakt works just fine. Thank you :+1:
