Kontakt volume gets reset

Shame I didn’t pick this thread up back in the day. This is not a bug, but rather a configuration usually set by the developer of a library. Normally they would just use Kontakt’s own internal on/off receive CC. But it can also be added at script level which ignores this setting. In any case, it’s super easy to change, especially if you have VE Pro.

Basically you open the multiscript, go to factory then Transformer. Now you tell the script to filter CC7 and convert it to anything, like CC127 or pitchbend, it doesn’t really matter.

I’m a bit confused by all this – is the current situation with Dorico 3.5 that Kontakt resets volume for all or just some of its libraries. Or maybe that it is inconsistent? or maybe that K6 is the issue (I still use 5). Currently the only Kontakt library I use is CSS and it does not reset provided that “Accept standard controllers” is unticked.

I admit to having a certain sympathy with @MarcLarcher here. Although it works OK for me, I’m not a big fan of Kontakt and most of the higher quality vendors such as Spitfire are moving away from it or never used it.

Hope it helps someone else
