I like to have 4 measures on a staff and it was really crowded in portrait mode, so I switched to landscape. I had the minimum margins before and they are still set thus but now there are huge margins. Worse, even with that I see that notes are cut off on the left. Can’t cubase print in landscape mode?
Hi,
I am able to see all of my page in landscape after printing to a PDF.
One thing; I never print directly to my printer from Score.
I always print into a PDF first, and then print the PDF. First, I can see if it is what I want before I print and second, Cubase’s implementation of printing direct to a printer does not always work properly.
Cheers,
Ricardo
Well I did get farther because, compared to an earlier post of mine, I couldn’t do prit to PDF but now I can. But if I choose landscape in Cubase, it still comes out trimmed.
I choose portrait in Cubase, then it is not trimmed, but if I change in PDF to landscape, then I have the wide margins, just printing the portrait view with more pages.
I’m not seeing an option to change the margins, which were already minimal in Cubase.
The following steps resulted in side margins less than an inch (~20mm). Also, I did try reducing the margins as indicated in Step 3 and it did seem to work after some trial and error, I had margins around 10mm.
I haven’t tidied up the instructions so I hope they are not too cryptic.
- Score/Open Score Editor
- Score/ select Page Mode
- File/Page Setup/select Landscape/OK (you can make the margins a bit smaller in this window if needed)
- Print/Microsoft Print to PDF/ Orientation Ladscape/Print/ save to a temp file.
- Open Temp file in a PDF viewer (I use Microsoft Edge)
- Select Print/Select HP Printer/Ensure Landscape is selected/Black and white/Print on one side
- Press Print
Good luck,
Ricardo
In Cubase page mode, landscape, it looks fine. When I go to print to PDF, the only choice is PDF, so I’m not sure what you meant as temp unless just as not the final result. So save as PDF and it opens it portrait mode and with the right cut again and when I choose landscape, still cut off and just wider margins as in earlier pix. I don’t have HP printer so I would choose my Epson 15000, but as I see, it is cut off and with the huge margins, so no point.
Sounds like the issue is happening in the PDF print stage or when opening the temp file in the PDF viewer. You might try using the ones I mentioned if possible or try using something different to the ones you are using.

I tried to follow just as you indicated except I don’t have that printer and haave the Epson XP15000. I’ve tried everything I could think, just doesn’t work.
