I recently upgraded to Dorico 6.2 using the Steinberg Download Assistant. I also installed all other related components using the Download Assistant, including Etude Elements. However, when I launch Dorico 6.2, it nonetheless prompts me to install Etude Elements. (An essential component used by Dorico for playback has not been found). How can I clear this error?
Check in Steinberg Library Manager that Etude Elements shows up as correctly installed in there.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is shown as installed in the Library Manager.

I started Dorico again and it prompted me to activate. Once I did that, it did not give an error about Etude Elements. It seems to be functioning correctly now. Thanks for your help.
Did you do anything else before it started working? I’ve restarted the app 3 times and keep seeing that error despite it being shown as installed in the Download Assistant (and as installed in the Library Manager now that I’ve read the comment thread more carefully and opened that to double check).
Edit to add: The fix that appears to have worked for me came from Reddit, and involves a different Steinberg utility app.
”please proceed as follows: Quit Dorico, open the Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM), hold down the Shift key and click the Refresh button in the top right corner. Wait until the loading indicator has disappeared, then restart Dorico. After that, Etude Elements should start correctly.”

Hi @terryv The main thing that I did was to open a score and then to attempt a playback, which initially failed (no sound). At this point I got a popup telling me I needed to activate Dorico. After I completed that and I relaunched Dorico, I did not see the error and playback functioned correctly. - Ed
