Lead Sheet

Is there a way to show a foot note rhythm sample using various note symbols indicating the rhythm? ie eighth quarter eighth eighth eighth eighth

Probably the easiest way would be to insert a text frame or system text using this fabulous font by our own Dan Kreider:

Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind. I was so used to Finale where I could add the footnote as I created the lead sheet and place it anywhere as a reminder of the rhythm.

The text frame would be great but where do I find the symbols?

You can also use metrico fonts, this is a screenshot I made an other day. It is free and easy to download!

Well, go to the link I gave you, and download and install the font, it’s free if you like!
You can also use Metrico, another font made by a member here, but in my opinion, MusGlyphs is more versatile…

If I get MusGlyphs, do I need also a different app to use it, or purely Dorico is sufficient? Is it like a font type, or something different?

Font. Once you install it on your computer, it can be used by your other apps — such as including in-line musical symbols in a word processing doc — in addition to Dorico. Super handy!

Thanks to Dan Kreider for the beautiful font! I tried to pay for it, but my VISA was declined, even though it’s in good standing. Maybe BTC?

Well, it looks as they are accepting PayPal, maybe try that?

I recall at least one person having a browser related issue with a payment. Perhaps try another browser ? It’s a hope anyway.

Thanks for the help. MusGlyphs seems to fit the bill, it works fine for what I wanted.

Yes, Brave and Opera failed, but finally Firefox worked, and I now proudly have Dorico 6! But not so with MusGlyphs. I was forced to pay $0.00, but would like to support Dan Kreider’s work. I’ll look into setting up PayPal.
