A friend of mine who switched from FLStudio to Cubase was wondering why setting up MIDI commands had to be so hard. (He wanted to use his keyboard’s extra buttons for transport control, but the driver support from said keyboard was kind of poor)
When going to File > Key Commands, instead of just having the “Type in Key” option to assign something, maybe add an extra “learn from MIDI” command. Where you can just press the button on the remote controller and voila.
I know there are really extensive options for setting up controllers and remote devices. But if it could be done this way as well, I think it would benefit the not so tech-experienced musicians as well.
