Lengthen note to move caret

I would like to ask You to consider a feature:
option to move the input caret the same duration when lengthening and shortening the selected notes.
It will help me when I am inputting notes (i.e. transcribing) and modifying the length of the notes. Now after each operation I need to press arrows multiple times to get where I want to write next. It would be great to have it as an option so that the caret is positioned at the end of the music - which would be achieved by moving it with the notes that are being shortened. It needs to be an option though so that other usage of the stationary caret is intact.
