Lets play a music writing game

Here’s the instructions

  1. Create 4 Instrument Tracks
  2. Load a different VSTi on each Track (preferably ones you use less often)
  3. For each VSTi go to where you can select its Presets. Then scroll around and randomly load a Preset. Don’t read the Preset’s name or listen to it, just pick one.
  4. OK, that’s your entire sound source palette. Make a piece about a half minute long using it.

Here’s what I came up with

One of the presets had a pretty busy arpeggiator that I didn’t want setting the mood. So I set the Tempo to 36BPM, which totally changed its vibe.
