License Acti8vation Code

Hi, I’ve been using Cubase 6 for around twenty years and thankfully never had a problem. I relocated about 8 months ago, and have only just set up my studio again. Firing up the system, it is asking me for a License Activation Code, which has never happened before. Having been so long since I got Cubase, I have no idea how to find such a code. The various numbers that appear on the original packaging – PIN, authorisation number etc – don’t work. Any idea how I can find the code? Thanks…

What is “the system”?

Which version of Cubase 6 is it?

Damn, Cubase 6 is old … makes me feel old, too.

I just meant re-starting my Mac.
It’s Cubase SX3…? It’s been so long since I’ve had to check, not exactly sure which version of 6 it is

Cubase 6 and Cubase SX3 are very different things.

You’ll need to clarify things more clearly to get any help. Check which version is installed on your Mac and maybe post a screencap of the error message. Do you have any Steinberg usb dongle?

Thanks Grim. It is definitely Cubase 6 – here is the original packaging. I can post some further images.

When I try to open Cubase, this message comes up --“No valid license found. Start License Activation”. But of course I can’t open Cubase to find any further information.
Maybe I need to contact Steinberg to see if they can help…

I make no apologies for asking the obvious(!):
Is the eLicenser software installed?
Is the dongle plugged in and working?
I once spent a day troubleshooting, only to discover the dongle wasn’t plugged in.
