Licenses for content missing since moving Cubase Projects folder

Hi fellow Cubasers,

I moved my Cubase Projects folder to a different drive to conserve space and along with it must have gone my licenses for some VSIs and Halion 6. I am missing things like Eagle, Raven, Power Brass, World Percussion etc, which all seem to be upgrades that came with a Cubase update (maybe 10 or 10.5?). I sent a support request to Steinberg on the 1st Dec and am still waiting for a response  . Just wondering if anyone has had similar or can offer a good starting point for a fettle. TIA G

Hi,

You can set a new Sound Library folder in the Steinberg Library Manager.

Hi Martin, many thanks for the input. Apologies for not being more specific about the problem. I had completely overlooked the Library Manager, but I’m not sure if it is library related now I have had a chance to dig deeper.

I am being asked to update the E-licenser, but that is failing to perform any maintenance tasks. I have included a couple of photos which I hope will make things a little clearer.

Yes, because the eLicenser system has been shutdown in May 2025. Your screenshot shows HALion 6 which still requires the eLicenser, so do you have the USB dongle connected to your computer?

Hi Juergen, thanks for coming on. Yes, the E-licenser dongle is still attached…..I saw that the E-licenser was being migrated, but just presumed this would happen automatically.

HALion 6 will not be migrated, it will always require the eLicenser. If you want to get rid of it you need to update to HALion 7.

Do you still have the eLicenser Control Center installed, that is also still required for HALion 6. What does it show when you open it, does it have all licenses still listed?

You may just need a later version ELCC….you can download from here.

Hi Guys, thanks for your input. It would appear that Halion 6 has been euthanized and along with it all of the associated sample sets. Won’t lie, I’m pretty miffed at this, as I booted Waves into touch for something similar with their shady update plan. I’ve had to suck it up and spend £83 updating to Halion 7  It sounds to me like the sample sets have maybe had a bit of a polish (could be psychosomatic to cheer me up after being rinsed!!) and I am yes to try Halion 7 where I will hopefully find the Halion 6 samples I made and still be able to use them!! In Halion Sonic 7, all of the sample libraries are now back and playing fine. Two weeks ago it was all fine anyway . Thanks again for your help on this. G
