Lines after fingering

Apologies if this question has already been posted.

Is it possible to add lines to fingering which indicate that the same fingering should be used for multiple notes? I’d like to have fingering notated as it is on the second stave/staff in the screenshot.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome, @kiwimusic , to the forum.

One cannot extend a continuation line in Fingerings as one can often do in Playing Techniques, but one can create a playing technique using the Fingering Style and configure it to extend a line over subsequent notes in the Playing Techniques editor.

One can even get rid of the hook at the end of the extension line in the editor.

Thanks for explaining that, Derrek. This could come in handy for piano fingering-slides, which Dorico’s fingering tool doesn’t seem to support.

I think if you set it to be a fretted instrument, you can use the “slide-in” property…

I had noticed that fretted instruments have slide fingering options. Pianists also slide fingers and need a fingering slide option.

Of course! Due to my lack of insight surely, but the distinction between the various fingering options for different instruments seem somewhat arbitrary…
