Link continuo line and keyboard bass staff

I have a piece with basso continuo, but need to make a keyboard realization for the choral score and harpsichord part. I don’t necessarily need the full realization in the score. I currently have a cello with figures in the score (and a few scratch staves as I work). Is there a way to link the cello part to the left hand of a keyboard stave, or brace it with a seperate treble staff? It would be nice to have them both update if I make a change, although I’m not planning to change the bass line much at this point.

You could use separate instruments for each staff, like a Cello and a Treble Scratch instrument; and give them a manual bracket change. Then change the right hand sample to a harpsichord or chamber organ.

That would allow you to keep the single Basso line in the score layout; but have the realization in other layouts.

The Staff Labelling might be tricky, though.

Thanks! I was able to get the bracket done and delete the name of the treble scratch. It just looks weird to have the name only on the bottom staff now.

You might be better off not showing the name entirely. (Changing it to " ".)

Sadly, you can’t use a grand staff and delete the top staff – the bass figures disappear, as weirdly, they are actually part of the top staff, internally.

I usually just use two separate instruments, at the cost of having to update them both if anything changes.
