Listen button for Groups/FX/VCA tracks?

You can’t add a “Listen” button (L) to Groups or FX tracks in the Arrange window.
Why no?
The option is available only for Audio and Instrument tracks, and Sampler tracks…

If you want to toggle Listen modes on Group or FX tracks, you have to do it on the MixConsole, or open the lower zone in the Arrange window.

But just a little L button on a Group track would save a step or two.
Why is this missing?

bump.

Please make this a feature request.

Workaround: if your listen keyboard shortcut key is, say, L, you can just highlight the group or FX track in the Arrange window and press L.

There will be no visual indication showing the track is in listen mode, however… only that Listen in general is enabled – that is, if you’ve got those state buttons (Solo, Mute, Listen, etc.) showing in that upper bar (whatever it’s called.)

This would be great. I definitely second that for whatever that’s worth.

I’ve been complaining about this forever. It makes absolutely no sense. Yes there’s workarounds with shortcuts, but if there is one kind of track you are likely to commonly want to use the Listen function for quickly in the arrange window, its an FX track. Mixing away from the mixer is becoming a more prevalent thing, and Cubase is certainly facilitating that with changes over recent years.

Unless there’s a technical reason/obstruction I have absolutely no idea what is going through Steinberg’s brains trust to add the function to Track Control Settings for every other type of track, except these. As in, the types of tracks you’d actually want to use this function on on a regular basis.

it’s been almost 4 years since I hoped this would turn into a feature. That said, I have not seemed to miss it since I discovered the workaround of just pressing L.

But yeah, it makes little sense to not have it. Maybe C14 does? I have not looked.

Sadly, it does not :frowning:
