Locking off midi edit windows?

Hello all,

I was just wondering if there is a way to “lock” an open midi edit window?

Here’s what I mean, often, I record a part. Open it in the edit window and put it on another monitor so I can read off it when recording in the next parts. However, as soon as I record another part, Cubase automatically switches it to that newly recorded part, meaning I lose my reference part and have to go back and open it up again. Is there a way round this?

Can I have my first part “locked off” on a second screen, then use the bottom “tray” midi editor for the new part, then close that and record another part without losing the “locked” off part?

Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense!

Many thanks,

Ethan

THANK YOU SO MUCH STEVE!

It may have been a silly question, but this was NOT a silly answer! Thanks so much for taking the time to show me, that achieved exactly what I needed.
