Logitech MX Master 4 mouse Integration with Cubase

Dear Cubase Development Team,

I am writing to respectfully request your consideration for adding full, native support for the new features of the Logitech MX Master 4 Wireless Mouse to Cubase 14 Pro.

The MX Master series is a standard among creative professionals, and dedicated integration for the latest model would offer your users a cutting-edge workflow.

For example, Ableton Live already has integration (actions) for this mouse.

Logitech MX Master 4 Key Features

The MX Master 4 introduces several new and enhanced capabilities that, with dedicated support, would significantly enhance precision and control within the Cubase environment:

1. Haptic Feedback (Haptic Sense Panel)

This is a revolutionary new feature that provides subtle, customizable haptic feedback (tactile vibrations) for specific actions, shortcuts, notifications, and interactions. The mouse is designed for immersive, precise control that you can feel.

2. Actions Ring

The Actions Ring is a new, digital overlay and shortcut hub enabled by Logi Options+. It allows users to place application-specific tools and shortcuts right at the cursor location, saving up to 33% of time by reducing repetitive mouse movements.

3. Enhanced Controls & Customization

The mouse features a total of 8 customizable buttons and advanced scrolling mechanisms:

  • MagSpeed Scroll Wheel: This vertical scroll wheel offers an ultra-fast mode, allowing it to zip through 1,000 lines per second, and a precise, ratchet mode, which is 87% more precise than the previous model.

  • Thumb Wheel (Horizontal Scroll): This wheel has an extended rotation to cover more distance in a single scroll, making horizontal navigation much faster.

  • Gesture Button: A dedicated, easily accessible button that allows for a range of functions often mapped to directional swipes.

  • Quiet Click Technology: The main clicks deliver a satisfying feel but with 90% less click noise than the MX Master 3, ideal for a quiet studio setting.

4. Precision and Connectivity

The MX Master 4 features an 8,000 DPI Darkfield sensor for precision tracking on virtually any surface, including glass. It also provides 2× more powerful connectivity than previous models for reliable performance even in congested wireless environments.

Native support for the Haptic Feedback and the Actions Ring would allow Cubase to fully leverage the next generation of professional computer control. I believe this integration would be a significant selling point for Cubase 14 Pro among power users and professionals.

Thank you for your time and for considering this request.

what is stopping you from assigning all these shortcuts etc yourself with logi+? what exactly is so unique with other integrations for other software that you can´t customize yourself in Cubase? most stuff I know I can setup with my own mouse, but some of this stuff I have no idea what is. I do not understand, can Steinberg program some wonder functions into Cubase that will only work with this fabulous mouse?

Yes, I am talking about a default, ready-to-use profile with gestures, icons, and commands for Cubase. Of course, we could spend ‘N’ amount of time setting these up manually or with the help of AutoHotKey, but it would be much better to have official out-of-the-box integration.

For now, I’ll need to spend some time generating icons and setting up all of these things.

I guess I have the generation before. not so many fancy gestures, but I had no issues to assign shortcut to my Logitech mouse. It is handy just like midi remote to help control your daw. I think that logi+ app is pretty straight forward so yeah why not do it yourself  You need to teach yourself any premade too, why not just make exactly the ones you want yourself

If they do this, should they then do this for every configurable device? Not realistic.

+1

Direct integration would be lovely!

Wow! Ableton Live have added actions for this mouse! My respects!

This is one of the best mouses for the work (at least for big hands guys like me), so it would be nice to have it integrated. Although, haptic feedback is gonna be the first thing I’ll turn of when I move from 3 to 4
